Situation
Peterhouse, the oldest college in Cambridge , offers a unique setting for business functions and dinners, receptions, conferences and meetings.
They wanted a site that reflected both the traditional values of Cambridge University 's oldest college, and the quality of the business facilities available.
The site needed to address three main types of visitor; prospective clients, organisers, and conference guests.
Approach
With a limited budget we selected our in-house Content Management System - mkweb.
We then designed three concepts from the values established during earlier consultation, and one of these was selected. From this, we constructed stylesheets (XSLT) which act as templates for mkweb. These were simply dropped in to the CMS ready for content to be added.
The front page was specially designed to offer three links for the three main types of visitor identified earlier. These took the user to a shortcuts page which allowed them to reach the appropriate pages quickly.
Result
Implementing the CMS, and building the entire site took just under two weeks - highlighting the speed with which we can deploy sites using mkweb.
Peterhouse Conference Office is delighted with the site, and it has reduced the amount of time staff spend sending information to clients, as this has all been made available online in an electronic library.
