Situation
The Alumni & Development Office at Downing College performs two main functions. First, it provides opportunities for alumni to keep in touch with the College and to promote contacts and connections between alumni. Secondly, it is responsible for raising money for Downing so that it continues to thrive and to fulfill its charitable objectives to the highest possible standards.
The Office organises a series of events and reunions for alumni throughout the year, it publishes a bi-annual magazine, Dow@Cam, it offers a contact service for alumni to get in touch with each other, and it plans and runs fundraising appeals and campaigns.
It needed a website which would allow it to communicate with and engage Alumni about the work that it does.
Approach
We created a bespoke content management system (CMS) using our current high-end in-house CMS, LegendCMS, as a solid starting point.
We used lots of photography throughout the site and designed and developed a visually engaging and clean concept for the whole site.
Result
Staff can manage the site's content easily using the CMS which was developed specifically for this project.
The main website provides clear and easy to navigate information about the work done by The Alumni & Development Office.
The Alumni Networking site allows alumni to create personal profiles, networking groups and take part in the Forum discussions.
